LaRoche University

Lodging and Meals....


     The workshop is held on the campus of LaRoche University, in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The compact campus provides easy walking between buildings, with plenty of parking for the week. We welcome residential and commuter based students.


Lodging

    Students staying on campus are housed in Bold Hall dormitory, a short walk from the Zappala Campus center (have a map..) and the dining hall.


  • Residential students choose a private room or semi-private with a room mate.
  • Residential students receive supper on Sunday, 3 meals each day, Monday-Friday, and breakfast on Saturday.
  • Commuter students have the use of a shared locked lounge, supper on Sunday and the option to pre-purchase desired meals when they register
  • A spouse or friend  not attending the workshop may share your  Semi-private room. They are also invited to attend the evening concerts.


All Dormitory Rooms

  • are air conditioned  (robustly!)
  • have a private bath
  • have a microwave/refrigerator and Wi-Fi
  • You are encouraged to bring your own bedding (Twin X/L) and towels
  • Bedding and towels are available for an extra fee if you can not bring your own
  • Rooms with handicap accessible bathrooms are available. 


Meals

  • Meal service includes Sunday Supper, Breakfast, Lunch & Supper Monday thru Friday, and Breakfast on Saturday.  
  • Commuters should purchase desired meals when they register
  • The Dining service strives to accommodate  all dietary needs. Please indicate your needs when you register.
  • Sunday eveningEveryone Commuters, Residents and Faculty - are invited to the Sunday evening Welcome Supper Party.


General information

  • Remember to bring a Music stand. Bring an extra music stand!
  • Lighting is adequate in most rooms. Battery powered stand lights (with extra batteries) may be helpful in some areas.
  • Bring music for casual music making with fellow students.
  • All facilities are well air-conditioned. We suggest you bring an extra blanket and clothing layers to be comfortable.   
  •  All areas on campus are accessible via elevator.
  •  Free laundry facilities are available in the dorm, lower level. You must bring your own laundry soap.
